Maintenance Tips - Daisies

darcyneal6

Daisies are a staple perennial in most gardens, known for producing a mass of white flowers. Their bloom season can be extended by deadheading the spent flowers. This can be done in one of two ways...

Trim the stem with the spent flower all the way down to just above the ground. Depending on how late in the growing season this is done, you more than likely will not get another set of flowers using this method.

Follow down the stem with the spent flower and prune just above the newly forming flower bud. If the stem does not have a flower forming, prune to shape. This method will produce a less prolific flush of blooms.
